Muhia the Mountain Conqueror

Two Kenyan Heroes take on two of the highest peaks in the world; Mt. Manaslu and Mt. Everest without supplemental oxygen to raise funds for children with learning disabilities in Kenya. To achieve this great feat, they need your support.

About James Muhia

James Muhia is a proud and valiant Kenyan mountain climber, entrepreneur and mentor. At the age of 41, he has climbed more than ten mountains around the world and going as far as putting Kenya on the map as the first Kenyan to climb Lenin peak and Mt Ama Dablam. To quote Martin Luther King Jr “ If I cannot do greater things, I can do small things in a great way.”  He has done both great and small, and everything about him will challenge to you to rethink your life and purpose.
Muhia of the mountains was born on Thursday March 11th 1982 in a small village in Kiambu town called Mbari ya Igi komothai. His parents were both teachers and he attended Mangu high school where he did well in his academics and played hockey. Afterwards, he joined Nairobi University to pursue a degree in Business Communication (Insurance). Most of his free time, he dedicated himself to volunteer as a mentor at Kahawa West Marion senior school. Playing the role of a big brother, he guided and counsel the students. He motivated them to work on their strengths and weakness, believe in themselves and bridged the gap among students, teachers and parents. After graduation, he worked for a while in the insurance world before starting his own business, a car repair garage.

Through Mountaineering, our mission is to give children with learning disability wings to realize their potential
To impact a life today, we kindly appeal to you to donate and support the cause, we wish to raise 50m.
This particular charitable project aims to achieve the following goals through your contribution:
a)      Research on learning disabilities, cause, prevention and management
b)      Promote public awareness of learning disabilities in children
c) Sensitize parents and teachers on how to identifying, manage and live with children with learning disabilities and help them soar to greed height.
d)  Initiate national and regional center for capacity building for personal dealing with children with learning disabilities.
e)   Identify and fund needy cases- school and establish centers.
