James Muhia is a proud and valiant Kenyan mountain climber, entrepreneur and mentor. At the age of 41, he has climbed more than ten mountains around the world and going as far as putting Kenya on the map as the first Kenyan to climb Lenin peak and Mt Ama Dablam. To quote Martin Luther King Jr “ If I cannot do greater things, I can do small things in a great way.”  He has done both great and small, and everything about him will challenge to you to rethink your life and purpose.
Muhia of the mountains was born on Thursday March 11^th 1982 in a small village in Kiambu town called Mbari ya Igi komothai. His parents were both teachers and he attended Mangu high school where he did well in his academics and played hockey. Afterwards, he joined Nairobi University to pursue a degree in Business Communication (Insurance). Most of his free time, he dedicated himself to volunteer as a mentor at Kahawa West Marion senior school. Playing the role of a big brother, he guided and counsel the students. He motivated them to work on their strengths and weakness, believe in themselves and bridged the gap among students, teachers and parents. After graduation, he worked for a while in the insurance world before starting his own business, a car repair garage.
